The seaside resort of Longos/Selianitika in Aigialia
The villages of Longos and Selianitika, located
within the municipality of Aigialia, are situated near a bay in
the northeast district of Achaia. The Longos and Selianitika area is outstanding
with its picturesque bay, green olive groves and citrus tree plantations. There
are cosy taverns on the beach, as well as in the villages, with excellent Greek
and international food. Moreover, there are numerous lovely cafes, an open air
cinema and many good shops.
The port of Aigion (Egion) is situated 7 km east of Longos. Busses of
the Greek transport system KTEL operate regularly to Aigion, as does the ferry
connecting Aigion with Aghios Nikolaos (continent). Patras, the third largest
seaport of Greece, well connected with Italy by ferry (Venice, Ancona, Brindisi,
Bari), is about 30 km away. The longest suspension bridge in Europe (Charilaos
Trikoupis), connecting the Peloponnese with the mainland, is about 25 km away.
The Araxos Airport is about 75 km away.
